New Financial Institution Marks Milestone for Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

Lynn DuBray and her children can’t wait to join their credit union when it opens next month on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. “I’m very excited for it,” said DuBray, a parent educator at Little Wound School in Kyle. “This is going to be good for our people. It’s going to be here, and it’s ours.”

 

Indeed it is. The Lakota Federal Credit Union (LFCU) will be the first federally-insuredfinancial institution ever on the 2.2-million-acre reservation, and supporters say its arrival is a milestone for local residents. Read the full story.
